A Living Archive of the Landscape
For more than a decade, Jeff Keller has collected, studied and organized the natural colors of the land. While his efforts began in the mountains and valleys surrounding Bozeman, Montana, Jeff’s curiosity eventually took him on a journey throughout the West. Alongside the extensive assortment of flowers, foliage, and rocks, the collection now includes more than 350 soil colors.
A Study in Contrast

While many, but not all images are offered with either a Black or White background, those available in both allow for one or the other to accommodate most spaces and preferences. Due to the genuinely organic evolution of the project, many images were only produced on a Black - or a White background.
